What Is Therapy vs Coaching with me?
Therapy focuses on healing, understanding your emotional patterns and working through past and present experiences in a safe, confidential relational space. It can help with deep-rooted emotional issues, nervous system dysregulation (e.g., anxiety, trauma responses), shame, people-pleasing patterns, or persistent low self-esteem. The relationship is a core aspect of therapeutic change, building safety, trust and space in our relationship for deep work to take place. Therapy is a compassionate, relational process grounded in person-centred principles and enriched with nervous system-aware, somatic, and trauma-informed practices. It’s a space where you are seen as the expert of your own experience, and healing unfolds through genuine human connection rather than judgment or quick fixes.
Coaching is focused on body work, tuning into the breath, sensations and body — supporting you with goals, self-trust, confidence, and practical steps toward change. Coaching can be especially helpful when therapy isn’t permitted due to professional regulations (e.g., working with clients in countries where UK therapy licence isn’t valid).
Both can be offered online and tailored to what you need. Body-Based Coaching is an embodied, relational, strengths-focused approach that honours the wisdom of your body as an active partner in growth and transformation. This isn’t just “thinking your way through change” it’s about tuning in to the felt sense of your experience and harnessing the intelligence of your nervous system, sensations, and movement patterns as valuable guides on your path forward.
My Approach:
My work is rooted in person-centred principles, meaning you are the expert in your own life and the therapeutic relationship itself is the core healing environment. I combine this with somatic awareness (understanding how experiences are held in the body) and draw from trauma-informed and nervous system regulation frameworks. Grounded in a person-centred foundation. I work pluralistically and may offer frames, tools, or experiential exercises in the moment where these support the client’s process.
This blend helps clients:
-
regulate the nervous system,
-
understand patterns of anxiety, shame, perfectionism, and people-pleasing,
-
build genuine self-trust,
-
and live more fully present lives.
This isn’t just talking; it’s engaging with body, emotion, and experience together.

How Therapy Makes a Difference
Therapy helps clients move from survival mode to a more regulated, present life by:
-
calming overwhelmed nervous systems
-
shifting shame and self-criticism
-
building healthier boundaries
-
reconnecting emotions with bodily experience
-
deepening self-trust.
-
and most importantly having a safe relationship, where intimacy and vulnerability can be experienced.
Over time, you learn both to feel more comfortable in your body and to act with more confidence in your relationships and choices.
This work is grounded in science and evidence (including nervous system theory and relational psychology) — therapy changes not just thoughts, but neural patterns and relational experience.
